Ichiba Japanese Market at Newport is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, I was transported to a bustling Japanese marketplace. The atmosphere is vibrant, and the decor is spot-on, making you feel like you're genuinely in Japan.
The variety of food options is staggering, from fresh sushi and sashimi to piping hot ramen and crispy tempura. The quality of the ingredients is top-notch, something you'd expect from a high-end Japanese restaurant. Prices are reasonable, especially considering the premium experience.
The market also offers an array of Japanese groceries, making it a one-stop-shop for all your Japanese culinary needs. Don't miss out on the freshly made mochi and Japanese snacks!
A Culinary Journey to Japan Without Leaving the City!

Highly recommend
Service was non existent. Had to find someone to take our order and to pay. Food quality wasn’t good. Sushi was extremely thin and not good quality. Inside of the roll tasted like a can of tuna fish. The soup was not tasty as well. I recommend skipping this place.
When you enter the place, you have a feeling being transported to Japan restaurant setup.
I had a ramen today, and it has rich taste as expected of a japanese ramen store .
The dessert unfortunately delayed, but all are good and understandable for a new store.
The price is reasonable for the environment and well trained staff.
The food we ordered were a hit and miss. The salmon was good and fresh, and the sushi roll and bacon enoki was good too. The rest were a miss. Service was okay.
The moment you enter the restaurant it feels like you are in Japan. We ordered ramen with tempura and salmon roll. The ramen was really good but the salmon roll and tempura was just okay.
I would recommend their ramen.
Cozy place where you can bring sets of friends all put together. You will never feel alienated. The welcoming atmosphere makes everyone feel home. The set of foodies served on the table belongs to everyone in the sharing of meals. Wow, what else can you ask for? Thank you Ichiaba for making me and my family and friends feel belong!
Food sucks Gyoza was small and didnt taste like it was feshly made bcoz it wasnt it came from a plastic bag and just heated, rice was not all Japanese rice it was dry, the ebi tempura was soggy and miso soup was sour VERY SOUR!!!
LASTLY WATERMELON SHAKE was only ice a 3 chunks of watermelon in it that were blenderize and topped with cherry you wouldnt even notice the taste of watermelon in it just ice and sugar!!!
NOT WORTH THE MONEY TO BE EATING HERE!!! IF YOU WANT TO WASTE MONEY AND EAT UNHAPPY THIS IS THE RESTO.
I ALSO MENTIONED ALL THESE CONCERNS TO THE WAITRESS AND SHE DIDNT EVEN APOLOGIZED OR SAID ANYTHING.
This place looks like Tsukiji Market in Japan.
Their menu is extensive, however, the food is just average. My Ramen is salty and my hubby's Beef Gyudon doesn't taste like Gyudon at all. Their Tofu was quite tasty and I loved that they left a pot of Sencha at our table.
The place is huge and Instagrammable and the the staff are attentive. I just hope they can improve their food
